Renown

Renown. What to do? Its an inelegant system, meant for tabletop, and a leveling system tossed on top of a character growth system and in general ... a giant flustercuck of jobs for STs and Galliard PCs and Spirits alike.
The other issue with Renown is that it often doesn't stack up with XP gain - either a character gets way too much XP on a lower ranked character who never got enough renown, or big 'doers' who gain a lot of renown don't get enough XP to buy everything a character needs to actually be that rank effectively.
So, we're going to rehaul everything. See XP for more details on what happens regarding your sheet, dots, and stuff when you rank up, but as for the renown ... well, we're going to play it by ear.
Yep, its that simple. The renown chart is shaky, the numbers are weird, and there's many problems with some of the supposed ways to earn or lose renown.
Now, that said, that doesn't mean that none of those gains are a thing. Galliards and Spirits and STs will use them to determine when you rank up. That should be done with the book-stated job of the Galliard, which is to tell stories of others and make sure everyone knows of deeds. Instead of the inane list of deeds that garner renown, that will be left to the discretion of the ST and any Galliard PCs - after all, the same deed can be painted in any number of lights, depending on the mood of the Galliard. Something that may be hard for someone may gain you more renown than someone else for whom it would be easy.
This can be calculated in your private forum, in tandem with the ST. Post what cool things you did, I'll pop in points for cool things I saw, and we'll figure out when you rank up from that.
In the end, its all up to ST discretion of what counts or not (or for how much) ... But that said, its hard to keep track of a game full of people doing cool stuff. So please note anything you think might be worth some renown in your forum, the ST will as well, and Galliards can do the same in their IC 'Deeds and Tales' forum.
For an idea of some things that might be worth renown, you can check the standard list. This is by no means exhaustive or authoritative, just gives a good idea of what kinds of things may end up on your list.'
This is all subject to change when we see what sorts of things are happening and how fast / slow renown is being gained in game.
